The Aura 11 is a pedestal model from the Varde Ovne's collection of Aura stoves. Standing 1100mm (43 inches) tall, the stove is also the tallest in the Aura range. It was obviously inspired by the Aura 1 model and has the same output (5.5kW), efficiency (78% Net) and controls including a small lever on the top left of the stove (over the glass) which accurately controls the air movement. It too features the clean burn technology and Airwash system (Secondary and Tertiary) which keeps the large glass window clear by preventing creosote accumulation. And just like other stoves in the Aura range, the Aura 11 is made from high quality and exceptionally durable steel, and has cast iron door with cool touch handle and cast iron top. It is also available with top or rear flue outlets which means that it can be flued from both the top and rear.

The Aura 11 caught my attention with its unorthodox design which in a way makes it a functional piece of furniture. Despite its decorative look, however, the manufacturer made no compromises when it comes to performance. Also, I find the Aura 11 just as practical and easy to use as its conventional counterparts. I am aware that there are cheaper stoves of comparable quality but since it is in the centre of our living room, I wanted for it to add a touch of class to the existing decor.
