The Charnwood Island III is the largest model in the Island series of wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. It large dimensions and impressive heat output (up to 12kW with a range to 16kW) make it a perfect addition to large rooms, open living spaces and smaller houses/cottages with an open floor plan. Capable of taking logs more than half a metre long, the Island III also offers a breathtaking view of the flames which is always clear thanks to the Cleanburn Airwash. In addition to keeping the glass windows clean, the Cleanburn Airwash technology also ensures high efficiency which is at 76.4% (net) incredible for the stove of this size.

As a part of the Island series, the stove also comes with the 'standard' Island features including Charnwood's state-of-the-art Quattroflow technology for more efficiency and better control, multi-fuel converting grate and cool-to-touch door handles. Available with a 10 year guarantee and a number of styling options and 8 colours, the Island III is also available with a smoke reduction kit (optional) which makes it Defra approved for use in Smoke Control Areas.

I'm generally happy with the Island III. It is a quality built stove, looks magnificent and is relatively easy to operate. However, perhaps a smaller stove would have been a better choice. A friend bought a much smaller stove this winter and he says they were always pleasantly warm. And they burnt less fuel too. We probably should have consulted an expert before buying the stove.
