8kW and 79% Efficiency Cooker Top Stove

The 8kW Island IICT is great practical concept from Charnwood and only costs an additional £130 or so more than the Island II upon which it's based. For the extra money you get a concealed soapstone cooking hob (great for slow-cooked casseroles) under the stove's removable steel lid, which you can swing upwards to form an easy to clean splash back. It is worth noting that because of the cooker hob you will not be able use the top flue option. However, when Charnwood's special rear flue box  is fitted it only brings the stove forward by an additional 186mm – much less than a standard T flue pipe. When you're not using the cooker top you'd hardly know it was there as the stove itself looks just like the Island II but at just 2" taller and with two lid grab handles. There are three different height options – low or high legs plus the store (or pot) stand. The soapstone cooking plate will also act as a significant heat sink so that the Island IICT will exude its warmth into the early hours long after other stoves have gone cold. Double doors, 17" log capacity, user-friendly single control clean burn combustion, external air capability, add-in multi-fuel converting grate option and Defra approved when fitted with a Smoke Reduction Kit all make Charnwood's Island IICT worthy of closer examination.

An outstanding stove! The cooker top is a really practical feature. My wife cooks on it virtually the entire winter. And it shows on our electricity bills! We are also very satisfied with the output, fuel efficiency and ease of use (and maintenance). If you are looking for a cooker top stove, the Island II CT will not disappoint you.
